Our little shop, Dhiman Wood Work, is tucked away at Shop No-E 46 in Puja Vihar. Mahesh Nagar is a decent area to work in, and being near the Shiv Mandir means we get a lot of people walking by. I started this place because I liked working with my hands and wood was always the material that made sense to me. Most days, you will find me covered in dust or trying to find where I put my measuring tape. It is funny how tools just seem to walk away on their own sometimes. We do a lot of different things here, from fixing up old tables to putting together new frames. It is not always pretty work, especially when the weather is hot and the wood is stubborn, but we keep at it. I have some local guys who help out when there is a big order to get through. We don't really do much in the way of advertising. Usually, someone just tells their cousin about us, and then they show up at the door asking for something. That is how we have stayed going for so long. It can be loud with the saws running all morning, but the neighbors don't seem to mind too much as long as we finish up before it gets too late. Sometimes we have tea outside and watch the traffic go toward the temple. It’s a simple life.
