C.Lal Ltd. is over at 98, Old Delhi Road in the Prem Nagar area of Ambala City. We’ve been at this same spot for a very long time. It’s a traditional kind of setup. The building has seen better days, maybe, but it’s sturdy and it’s home for us. Being on Old Delhi Road, we see a lot of traffic passing by all day long. We do a bit of everything here, mostly related to manufacturing and trading, depending on what the market is doing. It’s the kind of business where you know your neighbors and the tea stall guy knows your order. We don't have a human resources department or a marketing team. It’s just a few of us running the show. The rooms are filled with old ledgers and some newer computers that we're still getting used to. We don't make big promises. We just try to be honest about what we can do and when we can do it. Sometimes we’re late because a truck got stuck or a machine broke down. That’s just life in Ambala. We have customers who have been buying from us since my father’s time. It’s a family-run feel, even if we are a limited company on paper. We just keep the doors open and do our best every day. If you’re ever in Prem Nagar, you’ll see our old sign hanging out front, a bit faded but still there for everyone to see.
