People usually find us here at 3583 Timber Market by following the sound of the saws. It’s a busy spot and there is always wood being moved around on the trucks out front. We started Amit Industries quite a while back now and it’s mostly just been about keeping up with the orders that come in from builders around the area. The air inside the workshop is always thick with sawdust, no matter how much we sweep it up at the end of the day. Some days are slower than others, especially when the weather is bad and the wood stays damp, which makes everything harder to handle. We don’t have a big fancy office or anything like that, just a desk in the corner with piles of invoices and a kettle for making tea when it gets cold. Most of our time is spent out on the floor making sure the cuts are right and the machines are running like they should. It’s a bit noisy and it can get pretty messy, but that’s just how it is working in the timber business. We’ve known some of the other shop owners on this street for years, and we all kind of look out for each other when stuff needs moving. It isn't a complicated life, just getting the work done and hoping the truck doesn't get stuck in the mud out back. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily tasks as they come.
