If you’ve ever been to Gandhi Market in Ambala Cantt, you know how crowded it gets. Shop No. 105 is where we spend our days. Marconi Electronics has been here for a long time and the shop is packed with all sorts of bits and pieces. There are boxes stacked up to the ceiling and sometimes it’s hard to find what you’re looking for right away. The market is always loud with people shouting and horns honking outside. We have a small counter where we sit and talk to customers. A lot of folks come in asking for things we haven't seen in years, and we have to go digging in the back. The lighting isn't the best but we know where everything is. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know the inventory. Lunch is usually eaten right at the counter between customers. We get a lot of regulars who just stop by to see what’s new or to ask for a bit of help with a gadget. It’s a bit dusty and the paint is peeling in the corners but it feels like home to us. We don't bother with fancy displays or bright lights. It's just a regular electronics shop in the middle of a very busy market. The rent keeps going up but we stay because of the location. It's just how the market is, you know?
