You can find Y.K. Tools at 38, Industrial Area. It’s exactly what you’d expect from a place with that address. The air usually smells a bit like machine oil and cold metal, and there’s always a dull hum of something running in the background. Our shop floor isn't very big, but we make use of every corner we have. The floor is concrete and has plenty of stains from years of work. We keep our inventory on heavy metal shelving that we put up ourselves. It’s not a quiet place, but we like it that way because it means things are moving. We have a few older machines that we’ve kept running through a lot of repairs, and they work just as well as any new ones. The staff here is small, mostly just a handful of people who have been around for a long time. We don’t have a formal dress code; most of us just wear stuff that we don't mind getting a bit of grease on. Lunch is usually eaten together at a long table in the back. We don't really have a marketing team or anyone like that to talk us up. We just stay here at number 38 and wait for the orders to come in. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. When the shutters go down at the end of the day, we’re all pretty tired, but it’s a good kind of tired that comes from a full day.
