Kishori Lal & Sons

Kishori Lal & Sons has been sitting here at Shop No. 5672 in Kabari Bazar for a long time. You can find us on Guru Nanak Marg, which is always packed with people and rickshaws. The shop is full of all sorts of items we’ve gathered over the years. It’s a bit of a maze inside, but we know where every single piece of stock is hidden. The air is always a bit dusty and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are too busy to worry about that right now. We deal with a lot of different people every day, from collectors to people just looking for a specific spare part they can't find anywhere else. Dealing with scrap and old goods is a tough business because you never know what’s going to come through the door next. My father and grandfather did this before me, so it’s just the way of life for us. We drink a lot of tea while we talk to customers and haggle over prices. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find air conditioning or fancy displays. It’s a real market shop, where the floors are uneven and the lights flicker sometimes. We just keep the doors open and see what the day brings. It’s a noisy, busy life in the bazaar, but we wouldn't know what to do anywhere else.
