We started this group in Ghatnandur because farmers around here needed a way to work together better. It's mostly about handling our crops and figuring out the markets without getting lost in the shuffle. Being in Ambajogai, we see a lot of the same struggles with weather and prices every year. We are just a bunch of locals trying to make sense of the agriculture business together. Sometimes the office is busy, sometimes it's quiet, but we keep showing up. It’s not fancy work. We spend a lot of time talking to the members and looking at the fields. The point was to have a place where we could combine what we grow and maybe get a fairer shake at the market. Most of us grew up on these farms, so we know how it goes. We handle different types of grains and produce depending on the season. It isn't always smooth sailing, and we make mistakes, but that's how it is when you’re running a producer company in a small place like this. We don’t have big corporate offices or anything, just a spot here in Ghatnandur where people can come in and talk. It’s hard work, but it feels right to be doing something for the people right in our own neighborhood. We just want to keep things moving along and help the local guys get their work done. Anyway, that is what we do.
