Kidzee

Down in Ambajogai, specifically in the Om Shanitya Bahar Housing Society, you will find Kidzee. It is a small place for the little ones in the Beed district. Since it is inside a housing society, it feels a lot more like a home than a school. We have a few rooms filled with toys, colorful mats, and posters of alphabets and animals. The mornings are always the loudest when the parents are dropping their kids off. You hear a lot of crying at first, but then they start playing and it settles down. We spend most of our time cleaning up spills, helping kids with their shoes, and making sure nobody gets hurt on the slide. Beed can get really hot in the summer, so we keep the kids inside where it's cooler during the afternoons. It is a simple setup. We don't have a huge playground, just a small area for them to run around and get some fresh air when it isn't too sunny. The teachers here are mostly local people who know the families in the society. We do a lot of singing and drawing. It’s messy work, but that’s part of the job when you’re dealing with toddlers. People in the neighborhood just know us as the place where the kids go during the day. We don't make a big deal out of things; we just take care of the children and hope they learn a bit.
