Agarwal Anaj Bhandar is located in Maihar, specifically on the road that leads to the cement factory near the mandi. Being near the mandi means it is always noisy and there is a lot of movement. We deal in grains, so our place is full of big jute bags piled up to the ceiling. The air always smells like wheat and dust. Since we are on Cement Factory Road, there are always heavy trucks rumbling past, which shakes the ground a little bit. It is a busy life, especially during the harvest season when everyone is bringing their crops in. We spend our days weighing bags, talking to traders, and making sure everything is stored properly so it doesn't spoil. It is a lot of physical work, moving those heavy loads around. My clothes are usually covered in grain dust by the time I go home. We don't have a computer system or anything, just some old ledgers and a calculator that works most of the time. People know us in Maihar because we’ve been in this same spot for years. It’s not a fancy job, but it is what we know. We just take each day as it comes, dealing with the prices going up and down and making sure the farmers get a fair shake for their hard work. It's just a regular grain shop doing regular business day after day.
