Vishal Dye-Chem Corporation

Our office is at 8/13, Tarun Sadan, right by the Annexe Aurora Cinema in Matunga. If you have ever been to Matunga, you know it has a specific feel to it. The cinema is a big landmark, so we just tell people to look for that. Vishal Dye-Chem Corporation has been operating from this spot for a good bit of time. The building, Tarun Sadan, has that old Mumbai character. Inside, we deal with a lot of chemicals and dyes, mostly handling the distribution side of things. It’s a lot of paperwork, tracking shipments, and talking to suppliers. The rooms are filled with the smell of old paper and sometimes a bit of the chemical samples we keep around. It’s not a large place, but we have organized it so everything has its corner. Matunga is great for food, so lunch breaks are usually the best part of the day. We see the crowds going to the movies next door while we are loading or unloading stuff. Sometimes the noise from the street is a bit much, but you get used to it. We aren't trying to be some big corporate entity; we are just a local business trying to get the orders right and keep the customers happy. There are usually three or four of us here, and we’ve worked together so long we don't need to say much to get the job done. We just keep our heads down and handle the shipments as they come in each morning, making sure every bag and drum is accounted for.
