Neemrana is a dusty place, especially around the EPIP zone where we are. Our building, E-3, is right in the middle of it all. Working with thermal equipment means it can get pretty warm in some parts of the facility, though we try to keep the office side a bit more comfortable. Having such a long name like The Wipe Hot Wire India Thermal Equipments Private Limited is a bit of a joke among the staff because it never fits on any of the forms we have to fill out. We mostly spend our mornings checking the machines and making sure everything is running like it’s supposed to. The shifts start early here because of the heat in Rajasthan. You can hear the hum of the machines throughout the day, which becomes like background music after a few months. There’s a lot of metal and wires around, and things can get a bit messy during the busy weeks. We don’t really do anything fancy for our break room, just a kettle and some benches where we sit and talk about local news. It’s an industrial life, really. We see the same faces every morning and the same trucks coming through the gate. It’s not the kind of place you’d find in a magazine, but it’s where we get the work done. The commute from the highway isn't too bad if you can beat the morning rush.
