Tarini Cancer Hospital & Research Institute

Our hospital is out on Old Delhi Road, near Lohia Ka Tibara in the M.I.A. area. It’s a bit of a drive for some people, but it is quieter out here than in the middle of the city. Tarini Cancer Hospital & Research Institute is a place where we see people going through some very hard times. We have rooms for treatment and a section where we do research work too. The days here are often slow because the treatments take a long time to finish. Patients and their families spend a lot of time in our waiting rooms or sitting by the beds. We try to keep things as calm as possible. The drive out here from the city center takes about twenty minutes depending on how the trucks are moving on the main road. The staff is used to the routine of chemo and other procedures. We don't have many decorations on the walls, just the necessary signs and charts. It’s an honest kind of place. We spend a lot of time looking at test results and talking to people about their options. Sometimes it feels a bit heavy, but we just focus on the next task or the next patient. The research part of the building is usually quieter, with people looking at data and samples. We see folks from all over the district coming here because there aren't many places like this nearby. We just do our best.
