Sonia Forgings

Sonia Forgings is located over at RIICO Industrial Area Phase 2, G-1/685. It’s a straightforward shop. We do metal forgings, which means we deal with a lot of heat and heavy equipment every single day. The building itself has seen better days, but the machines inside are what really matter to us. We wake up early to beat the worst of the afternoon heat, though when the furnaces are running, it doesn’t matter much what time it is. Our team is small, mostly just local guys who know how to handle the tools. We don’t use any complicated software or corporate systems; we just write things down in the ledger and make sure the parts match the specs we were given. The street outside G-1/685 is usually lined with trailers and delivery vans, so it can be a bit of a squeeze getting in and out. We spend most of our time on the floor checking the quality of the bits we’re making. It’s honest work that leaves you tired at the end of the shift. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, we just want to stay steady and keep the orders moving. If something breaks, we fix it ourselves. That’s just how we operate here in Phase 2. There’s no mystery to it, just a lot of hard work and making sure the metal is shaped right.
