It’s a standard residential-looking area, but that’s where we operate as a Senior Agent In International Call Center. Being in Alwar means the summers are really intense, so we're usually grateful for the fans and the shade of the building. We work odd hours because of the international side of things, so often you’ll see the lights on at 225 late into the night. It’s a bit of a strange schedule, sleeping when the sun is up and working when it’s dark, but we’ve gotten used to it. The streets around Scheme-3 are usually quiet during our shifts, which is good for keeping the noise down on calls. We don't have a big corporate sign out front. It’s just an office where we put on our headsets and talk to people halfway across the world. It’s funny to think about how we’re sitting here in Rajasthan while speaking to someone in a completely different time zone. The office is pretty basic, just chairs and desks and lots of cables. We don't worry much about the decor or looking fancy. We just focus on the calls and making sure we hear people clearly. Sometimes the tea man comes by late at night, which is the highlight of the shift for most of us. It’s a simple life, just doing our job in Basant Vihar and trying to stay awake every single night.
