Down in Narayanpur village, life moves a bit slower than the big cities. We are part of the Thanagazi tehsil here in Alwar. PADAMNABHA NIDHI LIMITED is located right here at Omprakash Sharma’s place. He’s the son of Naval Kishore, and most people in the village know the family. It’s a quiet area, mostly farmers and small shopkeepers. We decided to run the Nidhi from here because it’s where everyone passes by anyway. In a village like ours, trust is everything. You can't just open a business and expect people to walk in if they don't know who you are. We handle the paperwork for people who want to save their hard-earned money. It’s a small operation. The office doesn't have air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that clicks a bit too loud in the summer heat. We spend our days talking to neighbors who stop in. Sometimes they just want to chat about the crops or the weather before they mention anything about money. That's fine by us. We aren't in a rush. Being in Alwar district, specifically in Thanagazi, means we see a lot of the same faces every day. We manage the small loans and the savings accounts for the members. It’s a mutual benefit thing, so everyone who puts money in is basically part of the group. It works out well for the community here in Narayanpur and we keep things very honest.
