Metlife

Our office is at 161, Scheme No.2, in the Lajpat Nagar area of Alwar, Rajasthan. The pin code is 301001. A lot of people think of the Lajpat Nagar in Delhi, but we are definitely in Alwar. Life here moves at a different pace. We work for Metlife, mostly dealing with insurance papers and talking to people about their plans. The building is a simple one on a regular street. Sunlight is intense in Rajasthan, so we keep the blinds down most of the day to stay cool. We aren't a big, fancy branch. It’s just a few of us in a room with some desks and chairs. Being at this spot in Scheme No.2 for a good amount of time now has made us familiar with the area. The neighbors know us, and we know them. Big marketing tricks aren't our thing. We just sit here and do the work that needs to be done. Some days have a lot of people coming in, and other days are very quiet. Tea in the afternoon is a common ritual. The roads around here are okay, but it gets busy when the schools nearby let out. Polished corporate mission posters aren't on our walls. We just have our calendars and some files. Practicality is how we run things. Documents stay in order and we help whoever walks through the door. Keeping the place clean is a challenge with the summer dust.
