About Hotel Intercontinental – Hotels & Resorts in Alwar
Our place, Hotel Intercontinental, is tucked away in the N.E.B. Housing Board area of Alwar. Pankaj Sharma handles a lot of the day-to-day stuff here at 5/9. It is not like those big hotels you find on the main highway. We are in a residential neighborhood, so it stays pretty calm most of the time, except when the school nearby lets out. The building has been here for a while and we know all the neighbors. People usually find us by looking for the housing board office and then turning into our lane. We don't have a giant neon sign, just a simple one so people don't get lost. The rooms are basic but they stay clean. We spend a lot of time sitting in the small office area checking people in and out. Alwar gets quite dusty, so we are always sweeping the front step. Sometimes guests ask for home-cooked food and we try to get that sorted for them from the kitchen. It is a family-run kind of feel here. Most people staying with us are here for work in the city or just passing through to Jaipur. We have some chairs out front where we sit in the evenings when the sun goes down. The pincode is 301001, just in case someone is sending mail. It’s just a regular house turned into a place for people to stay while they visit.
