Hindustan Zinc Ltd.

Down in Malviya Nagar, Alwar, we have our spot at B 148. It’s a quiet enough area most days, which helps when there is a lot of data to look through. We are part of the Hindustan Zinc Ltd. team, though our office here feels like any other house in the neighborhood from the outside. You walk in and it’s all desks and chairs. We don't have big signs or anything like that. The neighbors know us, and we know them. Sometimes the cows block the road in the afternoon, making it a bit of a struggle to get out for lunch. Inside, it’s mostly about the zinc operations and keeping track of what’s moving where. We have a small kitchen area where someone is usually making coffee. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but nobody really has the time to worry about that right now. We are busy with the logistics and the reports. Alwar gets quite dusty, so we are always wiping down the tables. It’s a decent place to work, honestly. We aren't doing anything flashy, just making sure the business runs the way it’s supposed to. Some days are longer than others, especially when there’s a deadline from the head office, but we just put our heads down and finish it. It’s just us, the files, and the occasional bird flying into the porch. We don’t really mind the noise from the street as long as the ceiling fan is still spinning.
