We are located at 357 Vpo Golakabas which is a bit out of the way for some people. Trupati Bala G Murati Kala Kendra is a place where we work with our hands mostly. There is always stone dust in the air and the sound of tools hitting rock. It’s a village atmosphere here in Golakabas so things move a little slower than in the city. We have different pieces of art and statues lying around in various stages of being finished. Some are just big blocks of stone and others are almost done. It’s hard work and your hands get rough after a few years of doing this. The shop isn't a gallery with spotlights and white walls. It’s more of a workshop with dirt floors and tools scattered everywhere. We have been at this address for a long time and the locals know us well. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to work outside but we manage. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just come to 357 and see what we are making. It is a traditional way of working and we don't see any reason to change it into something corporate. Every day is about picking up the hammer and seeing what the stone will give us. It's practical work that requires a lot of patience and a bit of luck with the materials. It is just us and the stone here in Golakabas.
