Our office is in Moti Nagar in Alwar, right near the ITI. Being close to the institute means there are always students and people moving around the neighborhood. Alwar is a beautiful place with all the hills around, but it gets incredibly hot during the summer months. Our space at D-14 is simple and doesn’t have many frills. We’ve got our desks set up and plenty of storage for all the project documents we handle. The building itself is quite sturdy and keeps out the worst of the Rajasthan heat, though we still rely heavily on the coolers. It’s a bit of a climb if you’re coming from the main market, but we like being a little away from the busiest parts of town. There’s a small shop around the corner that sells the best samosas in the afternoon, so that’s a regular stop for us. We don’t really do much in the way of decoration; it’s mostly just shelves and maps on the walls. It’s a working environment, through and through. The neighbors are mostly families, so it stays relatively quiet during the day while everyone is at school or work. We’ve been at this Moti Nagar address for a good stretch of time now, and it feels like home. It’s just a regular office for regular people doing their jobs the best they can without any unnecessary corporate fluff or fancy furniture.
