Running a local news outfit means we are always looking at what’s happening in our own backyard. It’s not a huge media house with hundreds of reporters. It’s a small, hands-on operation. My desk is usually covered in notes and local reports. We spend a lot of time talking to people in Laxmangarh to find out what’s going on. Alwar is a big district, but we keep our focus pretty tight. The office is just a regular room with some computers and a printing area. It’s loud sometimes when we are trying to meet a deadline. We don't have fancy leather chairs or a polished reception desk. It’s more about getting the facts down and making sure the news gets out to the people who care about it. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just part of living here. We’ve been part of the Alwar community for a long time. People know where to find us if they have a story to share. It's a busy life, always chasing the next bit of information, but it keeps us busy. We are just local people doing a local job. The tea stalls nearby are where we hear most of the gossip anyway.
