On Time Ambulance Service

We spend a lot of our time sitting near the Kochi Airport on Ernakulam Road. It’s a busy stretch and we’ve been here at number 5 for a while now. The team is mostly made up of drivers and assistants who know these streets like the back of their hand. We keep the vehicles ready because you never really know when the phone is going to ring. Sometimes it’s quiet for hours and we just sit around talking or getting tea, but when a call comes in, everyone moves fast. It’s not a fancy office, just a place to park and keep things organized. We see a lot of traffic heading towards the airport every day. Being based right here makes sense for us. The mechanics are always checking the engines because we can't afford a breakdown when someone is waiting. It’s hard work and the hours are long, often stretching into the night. Most of us live nearby, so we don't have far to go when the shift ends. It isn't a glamorous job by any means, but it’s what we do. We try to keep things simple and just focus on getting where we need to be. The heat gets pretty bad, but the fans in the office help. We’ve grown used to the noise of the planes overhead. It's just a normal day for us at On Time Ambulance Service.
