I spend most of my days over at the Panikkassery house in Puthenvelikara doing paintings. It started out small but now it's what I do full time. People come by looking for something to put on their walls, maybe something traditional or just a bit of color for a new house. I don’t use a big studio, just the space I have here. It’s quiet in this part of Puthenvelikara, which helps when you need to focus on tiny details. Most of the time, the neighbors stop by to see what I’m working on. It’s not a fast process. Some of these murals take weeks of sitting in the same spot, mixing paints and getting the lines right. I use whatever brushes work best, sometimes even old ones that have been around for years. It's dusty work sometimes. The weather affects how the paint dries, so I have to plan around the rain. I grew up around here, so I know the light. People usually hear about me from someone else in the village or from seeing a piece I did at a friend's place. I don’t have a big sign outside. If you’re looking for the place, it’s just the house at Panacha Kunnu. I keep my supplies stacked in the corner. It's a simple setup. I just like to paint and keep things moving. There’s always a new wall to think about or a sketch waiting on the table.
