Avt Mccormick Ingredients Ltd.

Over here in Marampilly, we have our facility for Avt Mccormick Ingredients Ltd. It’s a bit out of the main city area, so it’s a little quieter, though the factory noise is always there. We deal with ingredients every day, so the air usually has some kind of scent to it, depending on what’s being processed. The floors are hard and we spend most of the shift on our feet. It’s a big space and it takes a while to walk from one end to the other. We have a lot of machinery that needs constant checking, so there’s always someone running around with a wrench or a clipboard. It's not exactly a glamorous job, but it's steady. We have a small canteen where everyone sits together for lunch. We talk about the weather or how the local football team is doing. The paperwork side of things is handled in a separate area that stays a bit cleaner than the production floor. We have to follow a lot of rules about how things are handled, which can be a bit of a headache sometimes, but we just get on with it. It’s a lot of routine, day in and day out. Sometimes the shifts feel long, especially when it's hot outside. But we’ve got a good group of people here and we make it work somehow. We've been operating in this same spot for quite a long time.
