The Heritage Resort

Running The Heritage Resort out here on Baijnath Road is a different kind of life compared to the city. We are right by the tea gardens in Kausani, so the air is always a bit fresher and things move a lot slower. It is not one of those huge, impersonal hotels you see in the big tourist spots. We like to think of it more as a quiet place for people to stop when they are traveling through the hills. The view of the mountains is really the main thing people notice when they pull up. We spend a lot of our time keeping the grounds tidy and making sure the rooms are ready for whoever might show up. Kausani is a small place, so word travels fast, and we know most of our neighbors along the road. The tea gardens nearby are a great place for a walk, and we often find ourselves just looking out at the greenery during a quiet afternoon. It is a lot of work maintaining a property in this climate, especially when the weather turns cold or the rains start. There is always something that needs fixing or painting. We are not trying to be anything fancy, just a comfortable spot for travelers to rest their heads. Most days are peaceful, though it gets busier during the holiday seasons. We just take things as they come, keeping the kettle on and the rooms clean for our guests.
