Ashok Hall Girls Residential School

Ashok Hall Girls Residential School is way up in the hills. We are located in P. O. Majkhali, near Almora. The environment here is very different from a city school because the girls actually live on the campus. It’s a quiet, scenic spot surrounded by trees and mountains. The address is simple because everyone in Majkhali knows where we are. We have several buildings including dormitories, classrooms, and a dining hall. Living together means the staff and students are around each other all the time. It’s not just a job where you leave at the end of the day. The weather can be a bit of a challenge, especially in the winter when it gets really cold, but we are used to it. The buildings are old and have a lot of character, with wooden floors and stone walls. We don't have the latest gadgets in every room, but we have plenty of books and space to think. It’s a very disciplined way of life, with set times for meals, study, and sleep. We spend a lot of time walking between the different parts of the campus. It’s a lot of responsibility to look after girls who are away from their homes, so we keep a close eye on everything. It’s a slow-paced, steady life here in the Almora hills. We focus on the lessons and nothing else. The air is fresh and the days are long.
