Eastern Valley Farmer Producer Company Limited

Eastern Valley is based in Chodavaram, over in Visakhapatnam. Our office is at D. No- 2-53, at Korra Narayana’s place. We are a small group of farmers from this valley area. The land here is beautiful but farming is still tough work. We decided to start this company because we were tired of doing everything alone. It’s much better to buy things like seeds and tools as a group. We don't have a fancy setup. It’s just a regular house where we meet up to talk about the crops. Sometimes we sit on the porch and discuss the market rates. Visakhapatnam has some hilly parts, so some of us have to work on slopes. We talk about how to stop the soil from washing away when it rains hard. Most of us have known each other for a long time. We trust each other, which is important. We don't have any big corporate goals. We just want to make enough to look after our homes and maybe save a little for the kids' school. The work is physical and we are often tired, but being part of this group makes it a bit easier. We handle the paperwork ourselves, even if it takes us a long time to get it right. It’s a very local thing. We are just farmers who wanted to try something a bit different to help ourselves. The door is usually open for anyone.
