Our agency is located in the Puthenpurayil Building, which is right near the Kanjippuzha Masjid in Vallikunnam. We are down in Alleppey, so things move at their own pace here, which is usually a bit slower than the big cities. We mostly deal with distribution and supplying various goods to local shops in the area. It is a lot of loading and unloading crates from the trucks throughout the day. The building is old and has a lot of character, but it serves us well enough for storage. Being near the mosque means there is always people moving around outside, especially on Fridays. We have a small crew working here. We aren't a corporate giant with fancy logos. We just know the local routes and the shopkeepers in the nearby villages very well. Sometimes the weather makes the work tough, especially during the long monsoons when everything gets damp and the roads are flooded. We just cover the stock with thick plastic and keep going as best as we can. Most of our day is spent checking invoices and making sure the deliveries are on time. It is a quiet kind of business in a way. We don't shout about what we do. People in Vallikunnam know where to find us if they need something supplied. We just focus on keeping the local shelves full. It is a simple job but we take it seriously.
