Our place is in Purekanta, which is under the Handia tehsil in Allahabad district. The pin code is 221502. It is a typical Uttar Pradesh village setting. We have a small office that does a lot of work. Every morning the trucks pull in and the noise starts up. We spend a lot of time checking labels and moving things from one pile to another. It gets very hot in the summer months. We have a couple of old fans that help a bit, but mostly we just get used to the heat. We are not a corporate office with glass walls. Our walls are painted brick and they have seen better days. We don't have a mission statement on the wall. We just have a calendar and a few notes pinned up. People from Handia come by to drop off their goods. We know most of them by name. It is a friendly atmosphere, even when we are busy. We handle the paperwork manually for the most part. It takes time, but it works. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just wait it out while sitting on the bench outside. Life moves a bit slower here than in the big cities, but the work always gets finished. We are just local people trying to make a living by helping others move their things across the state.
