Rainbows School

Rainbows School is situated on Matiyara Road in the Allahpur area of Allahabad. It is a residential part of the city where the streets are often narrow and filled with the sounds of daily life. The school fits right into this setting. We have a building that looks like many of the houses nearby but it is set up for classes. The children come from the local blocks and they usually walk or come on cycle rickshaws. Inside the walls are covered with posters and alphabets. It is a place that feels very lived-in. We have a small staff who manages everything from the gate to the classroom. There is a lot of talking and shouting during the lunch hour when the kids are eating their tiffins. We don't have a big sports field but we make do with the space we have. The Matiyara Road outside is always busy with people going to work or the market. Sometimes the noise from the street comes inside but the students are used to it by now. It is a simple school for local families. We focus on the daily lessons and making sure the kids are safe and learning something new. It is an honest little place that has been serving the Allahpur community for years and years. We try to keep things steady for everyone involved.
