Our office is in the R P Memorial Building, number 24 on MG Marg. It is right in the Civil Lines area of Allahabad, which is a place most people know well. If you are familiar with the city, you know this part of town is always moving and can get quite loud. We are in an older building that has a lot of character, though it can be a bit drafty in the winter. We handle job stuff and training here. It’s a small team of us working together. The rooms are filled with files, some computers, and stacks of paper. It is not the kind of place with a lounge or fancy coffee machines. We just have a water cooler and some simple plastic chairs for when people come in for interviews or to ask about training. The windows look out over the street, so you can hear the rickshaws and the chatter from the shops below all day. It keeps us feeling connected to the city life. We open up early and stay until the work is finally done. It’s a busy environment but we try to keep it relaxed and friendly. We don’t wear suits or act like we are in a big corporate office. It is just a normal, everyday workplace. Sometimes we have a lot of people waiting in the hallway, and other times it is just us and the computers. We’ve been at this address for a while and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of Civil Lines. It’s just how we operate.
