Medicine House

You can find us at 97 Leader Road in the Miurabad area of Allahabad. This is an old part of town and Leader Road is always full of activity and people looking for things. We run a medicine shop here, so the walls are lined from floor to ceiling with shelves full of boxes and bottles. It can get a bit cramped when we have a few customers in at the same time, but we manage. The heat in Uttar Pradesh can be quite something in the summer months, so we keep the ceiling fans going all day long to stay cool. We spend a lot of time checking the expiry dates and making sure we have enough stock of the common items people ask for. There is a lot of dust that comes in from the road, so we are constantly wiping down the counters. We know many of the people who come in because they live in the Miurabad neighborhood. It is a regular job where we help people find what they need and keep track of the inventory. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late because of the traffic on Leader Road, and we have to spend the evening sorting through everything. It is just a plain, honest business where we try to stay organized. We do not have any fancy displays, just the medicines that people are looking for and a simple counter to serve them. We just keep the shop running day after day.
