Jay Maa Sharda General Store

Our shop is located at 169 Sohabatiya Bag in the Allahpur area of Allahabad. It has been our daily workplace for quite a while. The street outside can get a bit dusty and loud with the traffic, but inside we just focus on getting things on the shelves. We sell the usual general items that every household needs, like tea, spices, and soaps. Most of the people who come here live right in the nearby lanes, so we recognize almost everyone. We open up pretty early in the morning and stay until late evening. Sometimes the power goes out, which is common here, so we just use a torch or a small light to keep going. The shop isn't very large, so things are stacked pretty high. We try to keep the staples like rice and flour in stock because people rely on those. It’s a simple life running a store in Allahpur. We don't do any big advertising or anything. People just know we are here. If a neighbor needs a single packet of biscuits or some cooking oil, they just walk over. We talk about the weather or the local news while we weigh out the items. It is just a small local business trying to stay helpful to the people living around us. We keep the doors open through most holidays too because people still need their basics every day.
