Fashion Designer

We’ve been running this little place called Fashion Designer at 9 Old Sohbatiya Bagh for a good while now. Allahabad gets really hot in the summers, so we usually have the fans going full blast while we work on the latest batches of clothes. It’s not a big fancy office or anything, just a regular shop where we get things done. You can find us right in the neighborhood, tucked away a bit. Most days start with a cup of tea and looking over what needs finishing by the evening. The walls are covered in patterns and there’s thread everywhere, which is just how it goes when you’re busy. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. People around here know us by name, and we like it that way. We don't really do much advertising because word of mouth in Sohbatiya Bagh usually keeps us busy enough. The fabric rolls take up most of the floor space, so you have to watch your step when you walk in. It’s a bit messy, honestly, but that’s just part of the job. We spend a lot of time just measuring things out and making sure the stitching is straight. It’s quiet work mostly, punctuated by the sound of the sewing machines. We’ve lived in U.P. our whole lives, so we’re used to the pace here. It’s just us, some fabric, and a lot of work to do before the sun goes down.
