Basic Chemist

Basic Chemist is situated at number 30 on MG Road in the Civil Lines area of Allahabad. Our landmark is the Bank of Baroda, as we are right next to it. Being on MG Road means we are in one of the busiest spots in the city. There is always something happening outside, whether it is a parade or just the usual 211001 traffic. The shop itself is quite deep, with rows and rows of wooden cabinets. We’ve been here for a while, and the wooden counters show a bit of wear from years of use. It feels more like an old-style shop than those new glass-and-metal places. We keep a wide range of things, not just medicine but also basic stuff people need for their homes. The morning usually starts with sweeping the dust off the front step because MG Road gets quite dusty. We spend a lot of time talking to the bank employees from next door when they come in for aspirin or band-aids. It’s a very social spot in a way. The ceiling fans are old and creak a little, but they keep the air moving. We don't have any fancy computer systems that do everything for us; it’s mostly manual work and memory. It’s just a reliable place in Civil Lines where people know they can find us. We keep the drawers labeled so we can find the tablets quickly even when it's busy.
