Ar. M K Singh M.arch IIT Roorkee

I am M K Singh, and I’ve got my M.Arch from IIT Roorkee, but now I’m mostly found here at 90 C in New Lashkar Line. Allahabad has changed a lot since I started, especially with the New Naini Bridge being so close to us now. You can see the structure from certain spots near the office in Bairhana. My office is a pretty straightforward setup where I spend most of my mornings looking over plans and technical drawings. Being an architect means a lot of time staring at lines and numbers. I don’t really go for the big fancy office look; it’s more about having enough space for the drafting table and the computer. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, which helps when you need to focus on a complicated roof design or some structural details. Sometimes the heat in the afternoon makes the office feel a bit slow, but we usually have some chai and get back to it. Clients come by from all over the city, and we just sit and chat about what they need. It’s not about being corporate or having a polished pitch. It’s more about knowing how buildings actually stand up and making sure things are done properly. I’ve been doing this for a long time, and being back in this part of Allahabad feels right. It’s a practical space for practical work, nothing more and nothing less. It is just home for us.
