Sitamau Organic Farmer Producer Company Limited is based right here in Sitamau. We work care of Ramgopal Bharulal. This company is really just a bunch of us farmers who decided to get together to make things easier for everyone involved. Instead of everyone working on their own, we pool our resources and help each other out with the organic side of things. Sitamau is a small place, so we all know each other’s families and farms. Our office is a simple room where we keep the records and meet up to discuss what to plant or how the market is looking. There is nothing fancy about it. We usually have some tea, sit on whatever chairs are available, and talk through the problems of the day. It’s a lot of work to keep an organic certification going, but we do it because it’s better for the land. We don't have any big corporate bosses or anything like that. We make the decisions ourselves as a group. Sometimes it takes a long time to agree on something, but that is how it works when you have a producer company.
