Chandini Medicose

Chandini Medicose is right at 5 Pratap Ganj Road in the tehsil area. We’ve been here a good while now, just running the shop every day from morning to evening. It’s a simple place with wooden shelves that we’ve had since the start. We keep the basics, things like fever pills, bandages, syrups for coughs, and the usual creams people ask for. Some days the road outside gets really noisy with all the carts and motorbikes passing by, and the dust just settles everywhere. We have to wipe down the glass counters pretty often. My cousin usually comes in to help out when the crowd gets a bit much in the late afternoon. We spend a lot of time checking the expiry dates on the boxes and making sure the small fridge for the cold medicines is running okay. People come in with these little scraps of paper where they’ve written down what they need, and we go through the drawers to find it. Sometimes we’re out of stock, so we have to tell them to come back the next day after the delivery truck arrives. It’s just how it goes here. There’s a tea stall just a few doors down that brings us chai, which is nice when things get slow. We aren't doing anything fancy, just keeping the shop open for the neighborhood so they don't have to go all the way to the city.
