We are out here in Village Borsillah. Our mail comes through the post office at Tiphook. It’s a lot different than being in a big city. Life is a bit slower, though the work doesn't really stop. At Vedant Tea, we are pretty close to where the leaves actually grow. The air smells like rain and earth most of the time, especially during the monsoon season when everything gets really green and the roads get a bit muddy. Our building is just a simple structure in the village. We don't have air conditioning or fancy computers. We mostly rely on our hands and what we know about the tea batches. We’ve known the families around here for years. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside and wait for it to come back on. It’s not a polished operation with a board of directors. It’s just a few of us making sure the tea is handled right before it heads out to wherever it’s going. We don’t spend money on big signs or advertisements. People around here know where we are. We keep things honest and practical. Some days are long, especially when the harvest is heavy, but we like being part of the village life. It’s quiet at night, which is nice. We just focus on the tea and let everything else take care of itself without much fuss or worry about the outside world.
