The office is tucked away near Alipurduar Junction in West Bengal. Being so close to the station means there is always a bit of noise from the trains, but you get used to it after a week or two. Asim Talukdar is the name on the records, and we’ve been operating from this spot in Jalpaiguri for quite some time. It’s a humid place, especially during the monsoon months when the rain just doesn't seem to stop. We mostly handle local projects and spend a lot of time looking at site plans and technical drawings. Our desks are usually covered in blueprints and coffee mugs. It isn’t a corporate glass building; it’s more of a functional space where we can focus on the tasks at hand. We know the neighbors and the local shops nearby. Sometimes we have to head out to the sites, which takes up most of the day. Back here at the office, it is about keeping the records straight and answering calls from the main office. We don't have a big reception or a fancy lobby. It’s just a room with enough light to work by and people who know what they are doing. Life moves at its own pace here in Alipurduar. We just keep our heads down and make sure the paperwork is filed correctly before the day ends.
