Lama & Co. is situated in Takdah, specifically in the Manidhara Basti area of Darjeeling. If you know Darjeeling, you know it’s a place with steep hills and a lot of mist. Our office is right there in the middle of it. We have been here for a long time, and the locals in Manidhara Basti are like family to us. We don’t have a big corporate office with glass walls. Our place is built to handle the mountain weather. It’s simple and sturdy. We don’t go in for much fancy talk. We just focus on the work we have at hand. Most of our days are spent dealing with the local needs of the community. We aren't looking to expand into a huge chain of stores. We like being right here in Takdah. The air is fresh, but the work is hard. Sometimes the roads get blocked by landslides or heavy rain, and we have to wait it out. That’s just life in the hills. We don't have a big marketing budget. Our name gets around because people talk to each other. If we do a good job, someone tells their neighbor. That is how we have stayed in business all these years. It’s a small operation, but we are proud of what we do. We keep things honest and we don't make promises we can't keep. It's just a regular local business up in the mountains.
