Disha Hardware

If you walk down Pala Road near Sasni Gate, you will see our hardware shop. It’s Disha Hardware, and it is usually pretty easy to spot because we have things stacked near the door. We sell a bit of everything you might need for fixing things up around the house or for bigger building jobs. The aisles are a little narrow because we try to keep as much as possible in stock. It smells like metal and wood in here, which I think is what a hardware store should smell like. We get a lot of local builders and people just trying to do a bit of DIY at home. We spend a lot of our time counting screws or helping someone find the right size pipe. It is not glamorous work, and our clothes usually end up with some dust on them by the end of the day. Sometimes the shop gets a bit cluttered, especially when a delivery truck drops off a new load of supplies. We try to keep it organized, but it’s a constant battle. The area around Sasni Gate is always moving, and we are right in the middle of it. We don't have a big corporate office; we just have our counter and the shelves. Most days are steady. We talk to the customers, give them what they need, and get on with the next task. It’s a basic, honest way to make a living.
