Green Warriors

Green Warriors is based out of the Zakir Husain College of Engineering at Aligarh Muslim University. Most of us here are either students or folks who have been around the campus for a long time. It’s not a formal business in the way you might think. We don't have a corporate office with leather chairs. Usually, you can find us near the engineering department talking about some project or trying to figure out how to get more people to care about the campus grounds. It started out as just a small group of friends who wanted to do something about the trash and the lack of trees, and it just grew from there. We don't have a fancy budget. We rely on people volunteering their time after classes or on the weekends. Sometimes it’s frustrating because we want to do more than we actually can, but we just keep at it. Aligarh is home to us, and the university is a big part of that. We aren't experts with degrees in everything; we are just people who like being outdoors and want to keep the place looking decent. You’ll see us around the campus wearing old t-shirts and carrying tools or saplings. It’s not a polished operation, but we are honest about what we're trying to do here in the college area. We just want to make the place a bit better for everyone else who studies here.
