Grace Kennett Foundation Hospital

We’ve been here on Kennett Road in Madurai for quite a while now. Most people around here just know us as the place to go when they aren't feeling right. It stays pretty busy most mornings. You see folks coming in from all over Aligarh Ho and the surrounding neighborhoods. The building itself has seen a lot of years, but we try to keep things organized and clean for everyone who walks through the doors. Our staff mostly lives nearby, so there is usually a lot of talking in the hallways about local news or what is happening on the street. It isn’t some fancy corporate place with glass walls. It is a working hospital where doctors and nurses are just trying to get through their shifts and help the people waiting in the lobby. Sometimes the wait is a bit long because there are only so many hands to go around, but people are generally patient. We have different departments for different problems, and everything is spread out across the floors. The foundation part of the name is important to how we run things, though we don’t talk about it much. It’s just about being here for the community. You can find us easily enough at number 8. There is usually a bit of a crowd near the entrance, especially during the middle of the day. We just keep doing what we do every day, year after year, right here in this corner of Madurai.
