You can find Kwality Electronics on Gandhi Marg, right near the Allahabad Bank in Sarai Hakeem. Being so close to the bank means there are always people walking by, which is good for us. The shop is a bit small, and we have boxes of parts stacked up almost to the ceiling. I handle a lot of the repairs myself, usually tucked away at the back bench where I have my soldering iron and testers. We see all kinds of things come through the door, from old radios that people can’t let go of to brand new gadgets that stopped working for no reason. It’s a lot of troubleshooting and trying to find the right components. Sometimes I have to order a part from out of town, and the customer has to wait a week, which they don’t always like. The front of the shop has some new items for sale, mostly things like bulbs, wires, and switches that people need for their houses. The street noise is constant, and the fans in the shop are always whirring to keep the heat down. I’ve been in this spot for quite a few years now, and I know most of the other shopkeepers on the block. We usually share tea in the afternoon when things slow down a bit. It’s just a regular electronics shop, nothing too special, just trying to get things fixed. I keep a record of every job in a little black book on my desk. It gets a bit dusty in here with all the old circuit boards, but we manage.
