Firoz Hospital

Being located right inside the Aligarh Muslim University Campus makes this hospital a bit different from others. We are surrounded by students and teachers all the time. It’s a big campus and there’s always something going on outside our windows. Most of our days are spent seeing students who have caught a bug in the dorms or maybe someone who got hurt playing sports in the afternoon. We also see the staff and their families who live around the university grounds. The atmosphere here is very academic in a way, but when people are sick, they are just like anyone else. The hospital itself is an older building, typical of the campus style. Some of the rooms are a bit drafty in the winter and the hallways are long. We have a lot of regular people who come in just to chat with the staff while they wait for their medicine. It’s a community sort of feel. You see the same faces every day walking to class or going to the library, and then you see them here when they need a bit of help. We don’t have fancy coffee machines or anything like that in the waiting area. It’s just a plain room with some benches. It serves the purpose for the university people and that’s what matters. We just stay busy keeping everyone on campus healthy. It's a steady job and we've all gotten quite used to the university schedule and how everything flows around here.
