If you are coming toward the Phaphala Railway Road in Aligarh, you will find us near the Chunggi Wala Nal. Ar-Rahim Sheetalya Private Limited is right there, and most people around here just know us as being near Guddu Bhai allo Wale. Since we deal with potatoes and cold storage, our days are filled with the smell of the earth and the cold air from the storage rooms. It is a noisy area because of the railway line nearby, and you can hear the trains passing at all hours. We spend a lot of time checking the temperature gauges and making sure the sacks are stacked properly. It’s physical work, and your hands usually get pretty dirty by the end of the shift. We sit in a small room near the entrance to do the billing and talk to the farmers who bring their crops in. Aligarh is a tough place for weather, especially when the sun is beating down on the railway road, but inside the storage, it is always freezing. We have a few old benches where we sit and eat our lunch. There is nothing polished about what we do; it is just about keeping the produce fresh and moving the inventory. People come by on their tractors, and there is always a lot of shouting and moving things around. It’s a messy, loud, and very busy way to spend the day.
