Aligarh Unani & Ayurvedic Medical College & Acn Hospital

We are based at the Grand Plaza, right at the Marris Road crossing in the Civil Line area of Aligarh. It’s a large facility because we have both a medical college and a hospital operating out of the same building. We focus on Unani and Ayurvedic medicine, which are very old traditions. Because of the college, there are always students in white coats walking around with their textbooks and notes. It gives the place a very busy, academic feel. In the hospital section, we have rooms where patients receive traditional treatments like herbal massages or specialized diets. You can usually smell the different herbs and oils being prepared in our pharmacy area. The building is right near a major crossing, so it’s always easy to find, even if the traffic nearby is a bit much sometimes. I spend my days coordinating between the teaching staff and the medical practitioners. We have a lot of wooden cabinets filled with jars of natural ingredients and old books on Unani medicine. The waiting areas are often crowded with people who have traveled from nearby villages to see our specialists. It’s a place that bridges the gap between old learning and modern patient care. We don’t use much technology here, preferring to stick to the methods that have worked for generations. It’s a busy, meaningful place for everyone involved in the daily work.
