Aswaplas

Aswaplas is tucked away in the Industrial Estate in Aroor. If you know the area, you know it’s mostly warehouses and small factories clustered together. We’ve got a decent-sized space here where we handle all the daily operations. The air usually smells a bit like plastic and machinery, which is just part of the environment when you work in an estate like this. We don’t have a front office with a receptionist; usually, whoever is closest to the door just answers it. It gets quite humid here during the monsoon season, and we have to keep an eye on the roof to make sure there are no leaks over the equipment. Our schedules are pretty fixed, starting when the gates open and finishing up when the light starts to fade. There’s a lot of lifting and moving stuff around, so everyone stays pretty active. We keep a small radio playing in the background most of the time to keep the mood steady. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. We don't really do much advertising because most people in the Industrial Estate already know where we are. We just focus on getting the orders out on time. Sometimes the trucks get stuck in the narrow lanes outside, which causes a bit of a headache, but we manage. It’s just the usual daily grind for us at Aswaplas in Aroor, nothing more and nothing less.
