You can find us at Pullayil Illam in Cherthala. Alappuzha is a beautiful part of the country, and we're glad to be based here. The building is an old one, an illam, which gives it a lot of character compared to newer spots. It’s not like those modern glass offices you see in the big cities. We have old wooden doors and thick walls that keep the heat out during the afternoons. Varnaroopanya Traditionals is the name we use for the LLP. We spend our days working on traditional items inside these rooms. It’s quiet inside most of the time, except for the sound of the rain on the roof during the monsoon. We have a small courtyard where we sometimes sit for a few minutes. It feels more like a home than a business place, which is probably because it started that way years ago. Our mail comes to the Cherthala post office. We know the postman quite well. Most of us have been working together for years, so we don't need many meetings. We just know what needs doing each day. The floors are old tile and they stay cool even in the middle of April. We don’t have a big sign outside, just a small one near the door. It’s a humble setup. We don’t try to be something we’re not. It’s just us doing our work in a place that feels familiar and comfortable.
